Where to get the latest Socomec price list

The current Socomec India price list PDF is published on this page with its revision date on the face of the document. Socomec’s Indian offer spans three commercially distinct blocks — power switching, power monitoring and power conversion — so check which block your line items sit in before you compare rates. For net pricing against the current revision, email support@skylightsenergy.in with your ratings and pole configuration.

Getting the rating right before you get the price

Socomec enquiries are engineering enquiries wearing a commercial hat. A changeover switch is not specified by ampere rating alone, and buying on the ampere number is the commonest error we see on this brand.

Utilisation category is the rating that matters. IEC 60947-3 classifies switches and switch-disconnectors by what they are actually asked to break. AC-21 covers resistive loads with moderate overload. AC-22 covers mixed resistive and inductive loads. AC-23 covers motor loads and other highly inductive loads, where the switch must break several times its rated current at a poor power factor. The suffix matters too — A for frequent operation, B for occasional. A switch rated 250 A in AC-21A and 160 A in AC-23B is the same physical device being honest about two different duties. If your feeder is motor-dominated and you sized on the AC-21 figure, the switch is undersized for the job it will do.

On the DC side the equivalents are DC-21, DC-22 and DC-23, and they matter more, not less, because a DC arc does not self-extinguish at a current zero. Solar string and array isolation is a DC-21 or DC-22 duty at a voltage that rises with string length, which is why Socomec builds a dedicated PV switch family instead of re-rating an AC device.

Then check the short-circuit numbers. Ie gives the switching duty, Ith the thermal current in free air, Icw the rated short-time withstand and Icm the making capacity. In a panel, Icw at the specified duration decides whether the switch survives the fault your upstream device is still clearing. A switch chosen on Ie alone can be adequate in service and still fail the day the busbar faults.

Transfer switching: pick the family, then the transition

Socomec’s India offer covers manual transfer switches, motorised transfer switches and automatic transfer switching, and the three are not interchangeable price points on the same product.

  • Manual (MTSE-type) — operator throws the changeover. Correct where source changeover is planned, infrequent and attended.
  • Motorised (RTSE-type) — remote or panel-initiated electrical operation, with the transfer decision still taken elsewhere.
  • Automatic (ATyS family) — integral source monitoring and control logic. The device decides when to transfer.

The second decision is transition behaviour, where most DG-set changeover specifications go wrong. Open transition breaks the first source before making the second, through a defined neutral position — simple, and it accepts a brief supply break. Delayed transition holds that neutral position deliberately, which inductive loads need so residual motor voltage decays before reconnection. Closed transition makes before breaking, so supply is uninterrupted, but it requires the sources to be genuinely in synchronism.

A three-position I-0-II switch is not a transfer switch with control logic, and quoting one against the other is why changeover panels get rejected at inspection.

Reading a Socomec list without mis-ordering

The order reference is the specification. Socomec catalogue numbers encode frame, pole count, rating, terminal and operating-mechanism variants. Two switches that both read “160 A 4P” in an email can be different references at different prices and lead times. Quote the reference from the list, not a description.

List price is not your price. The printed figure is a gross list price. Net price follows from the discount structure applicable to your buyer category, order value and project type, and those differ across switching, metering and UPS. They are commercial terms, not published percentages — get them in writing rather than inferring them from an old copy.

Add taxes and check the supply route. Rates are pre-tax; GST is added on the invoice, with IGST replacing CGST plus SGST on interstate dispatch. Note also that Socomec manufactures part of its Indian offer locally — it has a facility in the Gurgaon area — while other lines are imported. That distinction usually shows up as lead time rather than as a different list, and it is worth confirming on long-lead items before you commit a delivery date.

Accessories are separate line items. Handles, extension shafts, terminal shrouds, auxiliary contacts and door-mounting kits are priced independently of the base switch, so a quotation built only from base references comes in short at panel-build stage.

About the brand, briefly

Socomec is an independent French manufacturer, founded in 1922, focused on low-voltage power switching, monitoring and conversion rather than a full switchgear portfolio. Its Indian presence dates to 1990 through a partnership, with independent operations from 2006, and it manufactures in the Gurgaon area for the Indian market. The useful consequence of that focus for a specifier: the switching and transfer-switching documentation is unusually detailed on utilisation categories and transfer logic — read it alongside the price list, not after the purchase order.

Buying Socomec in Bengaluru and Karnataka, dispatched pan-India

Skylights Energy has operated in the Bengaluru electrical market since 2013 and supplies through VendorStocks, our B2B and B2C platform carrying around 3,000 SKUs. We are a supplier and stockist: we publish the latest brand price lists here and quote net rates against the current revision. We make no claim to be an authorised Socomec dealer or distributor.

Because we also build LT and HT panels at Stellar Panels, Socomec enquiries get checked rather than merely priced. Send the feeder rating, load type, pole configuration, fault level and whether the changeover is manual, motorised or automatic, and we will confirm the utilisation category and accessory list before quoting. Dispatch is from Bommanahalli, Bangalore 560068 across Karnataka and pan-India, invoiced under GSTIN 29ACGFS8716B1ZZ.

Email support@skylightsenergy.in with your single-line diagram or panel GA and we will return a net quotation with order references and lead times.

How often this page is updated

We replace the Socomec file here whenever a new revision reaches us rather than stacking older copies, so the PDF you download is the one we quote from. The revision date is visible on the document. If it looks behind what you are hearing, write in and we will confirm whether a newer list is circulating.
