Where to get the latest C&S Electric price list

C&S Electric publishes its price list as dated PDFs on its own site, including a retail edition, and this page mirrors the current copy so you are not quoting off an old file. Skylights Energy supplies C&S Electric meters and switchgear locally from Bengaluru, so you can move straight from the PDF to a net quotation. Email your requirement to support@skylightsenergy.in with the catalogue number, rating and quantity.

Who owns C&S Electric today — and what that means for your PO

This is the first thing purchase managers ask, and it matters for spares and long-term availability.

Siemens Limited, the Indian flagship company of Siemens AG, acquired roughly 99% of C&S Electric Limited for about Rs 2,100 crore. The Competition Commission of India cleared the transaction in August 2020 and Siemens announced completion on 1 March 2021.

What Siemens acquired was specific: low-voltage switchgear components and panels, low- and medium-voltage power busbars, and protection and metering devices. What stayed with the original promoters was equally specific — medium-voltage switchgear and package substations, lighting, diesel generating sets, EPC, and the Eta-com busbars business, since grouped under the Trimaster banner.

So when you buy a C&S MCCB, ACB, MCB or energy meter, you are buying from the Siemens-owned side of the business. When you see “C&S” on a package substation or a DG set, that is a different entity.

Choosing accuracy class, CT ratio and CT burden for C&S meters

Since meters are where we do most of our C&S business, this is the section worth reading twice.

Accuracy class is a metering-error specification, not a quality grade. For LT feeder and energy-billing applications, Class 1.0 is the workhorse; where the reading is used for internal cross-billing between tenants or departments, or for energy-efficiency verification, a tighter class earns its cost. Choose the class from what the number will be used for, not from the panel’s prestige.

A meter is only as accurate as its CT. Three field rules:

  1. Size the CT primary to the actual expected maximum load, not the incoming breaker rating. A 400/5 A CT on a feeder that normally runs at 40 A parks the meter at the bottom of its range, where percentage error is worst.
  2. Match CT class to meter class. Pairing a good meter with a loose CT class throws away the meter’s specification. The overall metering error is the combination of both.
  3. Respect CT burden. The VA rating of the CT must cover the meter’s own burden plus lead resistance. Long CT leads in a wide LT panel — or a daisy-chained ammeter — push the CT out of its rated burden and the reading drifts.

Wiring and polarity. CT-operated meters need correct polarity (P1/P2, S1/S2) and correct phase association, or the meter will read low, negative or wildly wrong on power factor. A quick check: at a known resistive load, phase current and phase voltage should give a power factor near unity on each phase individually.

Communication. C&S’s communicating meters — the ARTIS CSM family — carry RS485, which is what you need for downstream energy monitoring. Non-communicating panel instruments sit in the VERTIS CSME family, and the CSM-A smart metering solution covers true-RMS smart metering. If you are building a monitored plant, standardise on RS485 Modbus RTU across the panel so the whole board can be polled on one daisy chain — that is exactly how our Switchology gateways collect data.

Reading the C&S price list correctly

List price is a reference, not a transaction price. The PDF publishes a list price per catalogue number; trade buyers pay a net price after the applicable dealer or distributor discount, which varies by product family, order value and whether the item is a stock or make-to-order reference. Use the PDF to fix the correct catalogue number and its list value, and a written quotation for the number you will actually pay.

GST. C&S switchgear and meters are invoiced at the GST rate for their HSN classification. Whether a printed price list figure is inclusive or exclusive of GST is stated on the PDF’s terms page — read it before you build a BOQ around it. Our invoices break out HSN code, taxable value and GST so input credit is clean.

Nomenclature. For MCCBs, read frame, rated current In, breaking capacity Icu at 415 V AC to IS/IEC 60947-2, poles, and whether the release is thermal-magnetic or electronic. For ACBs, read frame current, poles, fixed vs draw-out, and manual vs electrically operated — the cradle and the release account for a large part of the difference between two similar-looking line items. For meters, read phase configuration, direct vs CT-operated, accuracy class and communication option; the same model number with a different suffix is a different device.

Why C&S revises its price list

Metering and switchgear prices move for reasons that have little to do with demand:

  • Copper and silver. Current-carrying parts, CT windings and contact tips are commodity-exposed.
  • Electronic components. Meters and electronic MCCB/ACB releases depend on semiconductors, displays and communication ICs, priced globally and in dollars.
  • Steel and moulding compounds. Panel sheet steel, moulded cases and terminal blocks.
  • Forex and inbound freight on imported sub-assemblies.
  • Standards and BIS compliance. Revisions to metering and switchgear standards force re-design and re-certification, which reaches the price list on the next revision.

Because of this, C&S price lists are issued with an effective-from date rather than a validity window.

Buying C&S Electric in Bengaluru and across India

Skylights Energy has been in the Indian electrical trade since 2013 and works out of Begur Cross Road, Bommanahalli, Bangalore 560068. We sell C&S Electric meters locally, and supply C&S switchgear alongside them, through VendorStocks — our B2B/B2C platform of roughly 3,000 SKUs — with dispatch across Karnataka and pan-India.

Where we add value beyond the box: we size CTs and check burden before you order, we quote against a full panel BOM rather than a single line, we build the LT and HT panels themselves through Stellar Panels, we price panel BOMs quickly in Switchonomy, and we turn RS485 meters into an actual monitoring system using Switchology gateways.

Email support@skylightsenergy.in with your BOM, panel drawing or feeder schedule for a net quotation, stock position and dispatch timeline. GSTIN 29ACGFS8716B1ZZ.
