Where to get the latest Legrand price list

Legrand India publishes two separate documents — a main (corporate/project) price list and a retail price list — and both are linked at the top of this page as downloadable PDFs, replaced whenever Legrand issues a new edition. Which one applies to you depends on how you buy, not on what you buy. If you would rather skip the PDF, email your catalogue numbers or item list to support@skylightsenergy.in and we will quote against the current edition.

Two Legrand price lists, and why it matters

This is the first thing to settle, because a rate from the wrong document is the source of nearly every Legrand pricing dispute in the trade.

  • The main price list is the project and channel document. It is the reference for contractors, panel builders and project purchases, and it carries the wider portfolio — protection devices, distribution boards, cable management, industrial plugs and sockets, structured cabling, enclosures and building-management products.
  • The retail price list covers the ranges sold through retail counters, principally wiring accessories and switch plates, and is the document a shop will quote from.

Both carry an edition month on the cover. Check it before you accept a figure, and check which of the two your supplier used.

Legrand India is part of the France-headquartered Legrand group, which also expanded here by acquiring the Numeric UPS business — so a Legrand enquiry can reach well beyond switches into UPS and structured cabling.

Catalogue numbers, list price and GST

Legrand identifies items by a short numeric catalogue number, not a descriptive string. That number is the orderable identity, and it distinguishes what a description cannot: pole count, curve, sensitivity, breaking-capacity class, plate finish, module width. Two plates that read identically on a BOM can differ only in finish — a different catalogue number at a different list position. Put the catalogue number on the BOM every time.

The figure printed against it is a list price. The trade pays a net price after the discount structure applicable to the range and channel — protection devices, wiring accessories and cable management do not discount alike, and those structures are commercially set, which is why they appear in a quotation rather than on a web page. In the retail context you will also hear the figure called MRP; treat it the same way.

GST is added on top, at the rate notified against the item’s HSN code — LT switchgear generally sits in the 8536 family, with enclosures, cables and meters classified elsewhere. When two offers look far apart, check GST inclusive or exclusive, and freight ex-works or delivered, before assuming anyone is cheaper.

Getting earth-leakage protection right — where Legrand BOMs go wrong

Legrand’s strength in India sits in final distribution, and that is exactly where residual current devices are chosen carelessly. Three decisions matter.

Sensitivity. A 30 mA device is for personal protection on socket and lighting circuits. A 100 mA or 300 mA device is for fire protection and for upstream positions, where 30 mA would be unworkable because of accumulated standing leakage. Fitting 30 mA on a main incomer feeding a large installation guarantees nuisance tripping; the answer is a graded scheme, not a bigger device.

Type AC versus Type A versus Type B. Type AC responds to sinusoidal AC residual current only. A modern installation full of VFDs, SMPS, LED drivers, EV chargers and inverters produces pulsating DC residual components that a Type AC device may not see. Type A covers pulsating DC as well; Type B covers smooth DC and is needed on some drive and charging applications. Indian RCCB practice is governed by IS 12640 (aligned to IEC 61008 for RCCBs and IEC 61009 for RCBOs) — specify the type, not just the milliamps, and say it in the enquiry so the catalogue number quoted is the right one.

Selectivity between RCDs. Two residual current devices in series both see the same fault unless the upstream one is time-delayed (selective/S type) and its sensitivity is at least three times the downstream one. Without that, one bathroom fault takes out the whole board — blamed on the product when it is a design choice.

Finally, RCCBs provide no overcurrent protection. They must be backed by an MCB, or replaced by an RCBO where one device has to do both — usually the cheaper answer once you count modules.

Module maths: sizing the DB before you price it

Legrand’s DBs are specified in ways, but what you consume is modules at the standard 17.5 mm DIN pitch. A single-pole MCB is one module; a four-pole RCCB is several; isolators, surge protection, timers and indication take space, and so do the blanking plates and phase barriers nobody remembers to add. Plan on modules, then pick the way count with headroom — a board filled to capacity leaves no room for the circuit the client adds later. The other half of the discipline is thermal: a densely packed board runs materially hotter inside than the room, so MCB ratings need derating.

Why Legrand revises the list

The drivers are the ones every switchgear maker faces. Copper for busbars and coils, silver for contacts, cold-rolled steel and engineering plastics for enclosures and plates all track commodity markets. Imported components and tooling carry rupee-versus-euro exposure. Freight moves. BIS and IS/IEC standard revisions force design changes and fresh certification. Range transitions matter especially with Legrand, where wiring-accessory ranges are refreshed often: when a range is superseded the successor sits at its own list position, so an apparent increase is often a different product. Always work from the edition month on the cover.

Buying Legrand in Bengaluru and Karnataka, dispatched pan-India

Skylights Energy has been part of the Bengaluru electrical trade since 2013, operating from Bommanahalli, Bangalore 560068. We supply Legrand switchgear and wiring devices as a stockist and supplier — not as an authorised Legrand dealer — and we quote strictly against the current published editions so your comparison stays honest. VendorStocks, our B2B and B2C platform, holds around 3,000 SKUs across final distribution, wiring accessories and control gear, with pan-India dispatch.

Our Stellar Panels arm builds LT and HT panels, so DB schedules, module counts, RCD grading and enclosure queries are handled by people who assemble boards. If you estimate panels regularly, Switchonomy at panelestimation.com converts a BOM into a priced quotation.

Send your BOM, DB schedule or catalogue-number list with GSTIN and delivery pin code to support@skylightsenergy.in for rates, stock position and lead time.

How often this page is updated

We review Legrand’s published main and retail price lists monthly, and within a few working days of any notified revision. Each PDF here shows which document it is and its edition month; when a new edition is released the file is replaced and the older one archived. If you need a superseded edition to reconcile an earlier purchase order, ask us.
