The current Selec price list PDF is on this page — click the dated file above and it downloads immediately, no form and no sign-in. We publish only the live edition, so this is the file our own quotations are built on. Need a superseded edition for an old purchase order? Email support@skylightsenergy.in.

Selec does not publish one price list — check you have the right one

This wastes more buyers’ time than anything else. Selec Controls splits its published pricing, and the big electrical list — measurement, protection, power quality, solar — does not contain the process and industrial automation range. Cannot find a PID temperature controller or a process indicator? You are in the wrong list, not looking at a discontinued product; the electrical list says so in its own notes. Metering, protection relays, APFC, reactors, CTs and solar sit in the electrical list; temperature control and process instrumentation sit in the process list. We publish both here when both are current — check the file names.

Multifunction meter or energy meter? Get this right before you price anything

Most quotation revisions on Selec meters come from ordering the wrong class of instrument.

An energy meter — the EM family, including DIN rail types — accumulates energy: kWh and typically kVAh, kVArh and demand, with a display sized for a reading rather than diagnostics. That suits a tenant sub-meter, an internally billed feeder, a DG feeder you reconcile — wherever the question is “how many units”.

A multifunction meter — the MFM family — measures the parameters themselves: per-phase and line voltages, currents, power, power factor, frequency, demand, and on higher models phase sequence and harmonics, plus energy. That belongs on an incomer, a large motor feeder, a compressor or chiller — anywhere you will later be asked why power factor dropped or which phase is loaded.

Populating every outgoing feeder with MFMs when you only need units is waste; a basic energy meter on an incomer means buying twice when phase currents are asked for. Decide function per measuring point at estimation stage, not purchase stage.

Getting the CT, the accuracy class and the RS485 right

CT ratio is a setting, not a wish. A Selec MFM or EM reads through a current transformer and must be programmed with the ratio actually fitted. Program 400/5 into a meter fed by a 300/5 CT and every current, power and energy figure is wrong by a third — and looks perfectly plausible. Confirm the CT nameplate on site, not from the drawing, and record the programmed ratio in the test report.

Size the CT for the actual load band, not the breaker: a CT chosen for a 400 A breaker on a feeder running at 60 A puts the meter at the bottom of its range, where accuracy is worst. Check CT burden in VA against the meter plus lead resistance on long runs to a remote panel — a common cause of readings that drift under load.

Choose accuracy class by consequence. Class 1.0 is sufficient where the number informs an operating decision. Where the reading settles money — internal billing, tenant recovery, an energy guarantee, an audit that will be challenged — specify the higher class and match the CT class to it. A precision meter fed through a loose commercial CT gives you the CT’s accuracy, not the meter’s.

RS485 Modbus RTU is where commissioning gets lost. Daisy chain the bus, never star it; use shielded twisted pair with the shield earthed at one end only; keep A and B consistent at every device; give every meter a unique slave address; set baud rate, parity and stop bits identically across the loop; terminate the two physical ends of a long run. Then confirm the register map for the specific model before writing the polling configuration — addressing is model-specific, and assuming it carries across MFM models is the classic first-day failure.

Where the meters feed a monitoring platform rather than a local display, plan the bus around the head end — segments, addresses, polling interval. Our own Switchology energy management system reads Selec meters over RS485 Modbus through IoT gateways, and the jobs that commission cleanly are those where the bus was designed at drawing stage, not improvised at site.

Reading the Selec list

The printed figure is a list price. Your net follows from the trade discount applicable to that product group, and groups are not uniform — meters, protection relays, power quality equipment and CTs are commonly treated separately. GST is extra, at the rate notified for the HSN code.

Two habits save real money. Read the alternate column: Selec’s list carries discontinued codes with their current replacements, which is the fastest way to avoid quoting a model that cannot be supplied. And check the variant suffix — supply, output, communication and mounting are suffixes, so an MFM with RS485 is a different line from the same model without it. Quote the full code.

Why Selec revises its price list

The cost base mixes electronics and iron. Microcontrollers, ADCs, displays and passives are imported and dollar-denominated, so forex and component availability move cost directly. CTs consume copper and silicon steel; capacitors and reactors consume aluminium, copper and steel; relay contacts use silver alloys; enclosures use engineering plastics tied to petrochemical feedstock. Freight and the working capital in a wide range add to it. Standards move too — IS and IEC revisions for metering and protection can change a test, a class boundary or a construction, and a re-engineered model returns on a different cost base. Platform changes do the rest: older codes are withdrawn with an alternate printed against them. An old PDF is not just stale pricing, it is a list of codes some of which no longer exist.

Buying Selec in Bengaluru and Karnataka, with pan-India dispatch

Skylights Energy has been in the Bengaluru electrical trade since 2013 and supplies Selec meters, relays, timers and power quality products through VendorStocks, our B2B and B2C platform of around 3,000 SKUs. Send the metering schedule rather than a code list — we will say where an MFM is justified and where an energy meter does the job, which usually changes the total.

We are at No. 15, 1st Cross, 3rd Main, Begur Cross Road, Bommanahalli, Bangalore 560068, handy for the Hosur Road, Bommasandra, Peenya and Electronic City panel belt, with pan-India surface and air dispatch beyond Karnataka. We supply panel builders, wiring shops, OEMs, MEP consultants and purchase teams at plants, colleges and engineering firms. Our panel arm Stellar Panels builds LT and HT panels, so a metering enquiry is answered by people who have commissioned the bus. We supply Selec products; we make no authorised-dealer claim for Selec.

How often this page is updated

We check this page against Selec’s published editions periodically and replace the PDFs on revision, carrying the effective date in each file name and listing electrical and process files separately. Superseded editions come down. Seen a newer edition? Tell us at support@skylightsenergy.in.
