Where to get the latest Polycab price list

The latest Polycab price list PDFs are published on this page, each labelled with its own revision date, so you always know which copy you are quoting from. Polycab does not issue one master list — wires, industrial flexible cables and LT power cables move on separate lists with separate dates, and all the current ones are kept here together. Check the date on page one, then write to support@skylightsenergy.in for a net quotation against that revision.

Which Polycab price list do you actually need?

Most enquiries that reach us as “send me the Polycab price list” are really one of four documents:

  • House wires list — single-core PVC insulated copper wires to IS 694, 1100V grade, coil-wise. What a wiring contractor wants.
  • Industrial and flexible cables list — multicore flexible and control cables, priced per metre or per 100m.
  • LT power cable list — armoured and unarmoured PVC and XLPE, copper and aluminium, quoted core-wise and size-wise per metre.
  • Specialised lists — solar DC, instrumentation, submersible flat, data cable, often on project pricing rather than a shelf list.

Most panel and MEP BOQs mix wires and cables, so you will need at least two of these open side by side.

The table maps the categories across the current Polycab lists to the real series names and the size bands they are listed in. No rates here — rates belong in the dated PDF.

How to read a Polycab price list without getting the arithmetic wrong

Every Indian cable price list is a list price document. The number printed against a size is the gross list rate; what you pay is the net rate after the trade discount applicable to your buyer category, order quantity and end segment. Discount structures differ across wires, LT cables and specialised constructions, and they are commercial terms rather than published figures — which is why no honest page prints a percentage. Ask for a net quotation instead.

Four things to check on every line item:

  1. Unit of sale. House wires are listed per coil, standard packings being 90m and 180m. The 180m rate is not twice the 90m rate, so never derive one from the other. Power and flexible cables are listed per metre or per 100m — read the column header before multiplying.
  2. Conductor and construction. A size alone is not a specification. 3.5C x 120 sqmm Al XLPE AR and the PVC unarmoured equivalent sit on different pages at different rates. Copper versus aluminium, PVC versus XLPE, armoured versus unarmoured, and armour type all change the line.
  3. Order code. Quote the catalogue or order number printed against each size-and-colour combination rather than a description — it removes colour and coil-length ambiguity.
  4. GST. List and net rates are pre-tax. Wires and cables fall under HSN 8544; IGST replaces CGST plus SGST on interstate dispatch.

Why Polycab price lists get revised so often

Conductor metal dominates the cost of a wire or cable far more than insulation, armour or packing, so when LME copper or aluminium moves, list prices follow — up or down, without much notice. That is why the Indian cable trade revises lists on a cadence closer to weeks than years, and why a list downloaded a few months ago may already be commercially dead.

Practical consequences when buying or estimating:

  • Treat the revision date as part of the specification. A rate without a date attached is not a quotation.
  • Re-price long BOQs before submission. Conductor-heavy lines — large-section LT cables especially — shift most.
  • Expect short validity windows. On a metal-linked product that is honesty, not obstruction.
  • Copper and aluminium do not move together. Two lines can revise in opposite directions in one cycle.

Picking the right wire or cable, not just the cheapest line

A price list tells you what things cost, not whether the size you specified will survive the installation. Three things decide that.

Insulation and fire performance grade. FR resists flame propagation. FRLS, which Polycab markets as FR-LSH, adds reduced smoke density and lower acid gas emission. HFFR and ZHFR remove halogens from the compound altogether, so fire smoke is neither corrosive nor heavily obscuring. FR is generally adequate for a factory shed. For a hospital, hotel, data centre, college block or any escape route, smoke behaviour is the specification, and the step up in grade costs little against the consequence of getting it wrong.

Current-carrying capacity and derating. Catalogue ampacity is stated for reference conditions that real installations rarely match. Ambient above the reference figure derates the cable; grouping in a common tray or conduit derates it further; direct-in-ground runs depend on soil thermal resistivity and laying depth, and ducted runs derate again. Apply the factors in sequence, not in isolation — a cable comfortable on a single tray in an air-conditioned MCC room can be badly undersized bunched in conduit under a hot roof.

Voltage drop, usually the real constraint. On any run of length the adopted size is set by permissible voltage drop, not ampacity. Compute the drop over the full route at actual design current and power factor, keep it inside your specified limit, then confirm the size still clears short-circuit withstand for the fault level and protection clearing time at that point. Sizing on ampacity alone means re-pulling cable at commissioning.

Buying Polycab in Bengaluru and Karnataka, with pan-India dispatch

Skylights Energy has traded in the Bengaluru electrical market since 2013 and supplies wires and cables through VendorStocks, our B2B and B2C platform carrying around 3,000 SKUs. We are a supplier and stockist: we publish the latest brand price lists here and quote net rates against the current revision. We are not representing ourselves as an authorised dealer or distributor of Polycab.

What that means in practice for a contractor, panel builder or purchase manager:

  • Quotations against the current dated list, with the revision noted on the quote
  • Size-wise and core-wise consolidation across a BOQ, so you are not chasing four suppliers
  • Drum and coil logistics from Bommanahalli, Bangalore 560068, dispatched across Karnataka and pan-India
  • GST-compliant invoicing under GSTIN 29ACGFS8716B1ZZ
  • Cable schedules cross-checked against panel feeder ratings — we also build LT and HT panels at Stellar Panels

Send your BOQ or cable schedule to support@skylightsenergy.in for a net quotation with constructions and lead times against the current Polycab revision.

How often this page is updated

We refresh this page whenever a new Polycab revision reaches us, replacing the PDF rather than stacking copies, so the file you download is the one we quote from. Every file carries its revision date on the face. If that date looks stale against the market, write to us — a revision may be in transit.
