The short answer

The current Finolex Cables price list PDF is on this page, with its revision date printed on the face of the document. Finolex publishes electrical wires and power cables separately from its communication, optical fibre and automotive ranges, so pick the list that matches your requirement rather than assuming one document covers everything. For net rates against the revision you are holding, email support@skylightsenergy.in.

How Finolex splits its range — and why that matters when you ask for “the price list”

Finolex Cables Limited, part of the Pune-based Finolex Group, has a catalogue wider than most buyers realise. The electrical side — house wires, flexible cables, LT and HT power cables — is what the contractor trade means by the Finolex price list. Alongside it sit commercially separate ranges: optical fibre in unarmoured, armoured, aerial, ADSS and ribbon constructions from single fibre to very high fibre counts, LAN and coaxial, CCTV, speaker, fire alarm and automotive cable, plus agricultural and solar PV cable.

So when you ask for “the Finolex list”, tell us the application. A borewell pump installer, a data cabling contractor and a panel builder each need a different document.

Reading the list: coils, columns and net rates

Three habits separate people who quote Finolex accurately from people who re-do their estimates.

Get the unit right. House wires sell coil-wise, and the standard Indian packing is a 90 metre coil, not 100. Anyone converting a coil rate to per-metre by dividing by 100 under-recovers on every run. Multicore flexible and power cables are listed per metre or per 100m; the column header tells you which.

Understand that the printed figure is a list price. Your net rate is the list price after the trade discount applicable to your buyer category, order size and end application. Discount slabs differ across house wires, LT power cables and the communication ranges, and they are negotiated commercial terms, not published numbers. Anyone who prints a percentage on a public page is guessing. Ask for the net figure in writing.

Add GST separately, and check the construction code. List and net rates are pre-tax; wires and cables fall under HSN 8544, with IGST replacing CGST plus SGST on interstate dispatch. And always quote against the catalogue or order code printed on the list — it pins down colour, coil length and construction in one string, which a plain description never does.

Why the revision date is the most important number on the page

A cable is mostly metal. Conductor cost dominates the finished price of a wire far more than insulation, armour, drum or packing do, so when LME copper or aluminium moves, Indian cable list prices move behind it. Revisions therefore arrive on a cadence measured in weeks or months, not years, and they are not always increases — a softening metal market pulls lists down too.

What to do about it:

  • Never quote from an undated copy. If the PDF has no revision date, it is a reference document, not a price.
  • Re-price a BOQ before submission if it was built more than a few weeks earlier. The large-section aluminium LT lines swing hardest.
  • Do not assume copper and aluminium move in step. A copper flexible line and an aluminium armoured line can revise in opposite directions in the same cycle.
  • Accept short quote validity on cable. It is the only defensible way to price a metal-linked product.

Specifying Finolex correctly: conductor, fire grade, standard

Conductor quality is the specification you cannot see. Finolex states its cables use electrolytic grade bright annealed bare copper of better than 99.97% purity with conductivity above 100%. Conductivity sets resistance per kilometre, and resistance sets your losses and voltage drop. A wire meeting the IS 8130 resistance limits for its conductor class performs to the tables you designed with; sub-standard conductor will not, whatever the sqmm marking says.

Match the fire grade to the building, not the budget. FR grade resists flame propagation along the wire. FRLSH adds reduced smoke density and lower acid gas emission, which matters wherever people have to evacuate through a corridor. Halogen-free compounds go further still: no halogens in the insulation means smoke that neither corrodes switchgear nor blinds an escape route. Hospitals, hotels, data centres, college blocks and basement car parks should be specified on the low-smoke or halogen-free grades as a matter of course.

Know which standard your line item belongs to. Single-core PVC insulated wires of 1100V grade are made to IS 694. PVC insulated power and control cables of 1.1 kV grade fall under IS 1554 Part 1, and XLPE insulated cables under IS 7098 — Part 1 for LV, Part 2 for MV grades. Conductor classes and maximum resistance values come from IS 8130. Halogen-free and low-smoke performance is covered by IS 17048. Writing the standard next to the size in your BOQ eliminates most of the substitution arguments that surface at material inspection.

Pick the construction for the duty. A 3 core flat submersible cable exists because a round cable cannot clamp flat against a borewell riser. Agricultural cable is built for mechanical abuse and moisture a general-purpose flexible will not survive. Solar DC cable is rated for 1.5 kV DC and UV, which a 1100V AC wire is not. Substituting on price across these families is how installations fail in their second monsoon.

Sourcing Finolex in Bengaluru and Karnataka, dispatched pan-India

Skylights Energy has been in the Bengaluru electrical trade since 2013 and supplies wires and cables through VendorStocks, our B2B and B2C platform with roughly 3,000 SKUs. We are a supplier and stockist — we publish the latest brand price lists and quote net rates against the current revision. We do not claim to be an authorised Finolex dealer or distributor.

For contractors, panel builders, MEP consultants and purchase teams that means quotations referenced to the current dated list, one consolidated quote across mixed wire and cable BOQs, coil and drum dispatch from Bommanahalli, Bangalore 560068 across Karnataka and pan-India, and GST-compliant invoicing under GSTIN 29ACGFS8716B1ZZ. Because we also build LT and HT panels at Stellar Panels, we flag any cable size that disagrees with the feeder rating it is ordered against.

Email your BOQ or cable schedule to support@skylightsenergy.in for a net quotation with constructions, packing and lead times.

How often this page is updated

Whenever a new Finolex revision reaches us we replace the file here rather than adding another copy, so what you download is what we quote from. The revision date is always visible on the PDF. If it looks behind the market, write to us and we will confirm whether a new list is in circulation.

Send us the sizes

Download the dated list above for reference, then send the actual sizes, cores and constructions you need. Email support@skylightsenergy.in and we will return net rates against the current Finolex list, with dispatch timelines for Bengaluru, Karnataka and pan-India.
