Where to get the latest ABB price list in India
The current ABB price list for India is published on this page as a downloadable PDF, and we replace it the moment ABB issues a fresh “with effect from” edition. It covers ABB’s electrification portfolio sold through the Indian trade — MCBs, RCCBs, RCBOs, MCCBs, ACBs, switch-disconnectors, contactors, overload relays, softstarters, SPDs and wiring accessories. For a rate against your own BOM rather than the full list, email support@skylightsenergy.in.
Which ABB price list do you actually need?
ABB does not publish one sheet for everything. Its India electrification price list carries a document reference and an effective date on the cover, and separate lists exist for motors, drives and other divisions. Before estimating, confirm three things: the division, the effective date, and whether your item is standard range or engineered/made-to-order and quoted separately.
One structural point worth knowing: ABB’s former Power Grids business was divested to Hitachi and now trades as Hitachi Energy, so medium- and high-voltage transmission products are no longer part of ABB’s low-voltage price list. If you are sourcing MV switchgear or transformers, you are looking at the wrong document.

How to read an ABB price list
The number printed against each catalogue item is a list price. It is not what a panel builder or contractor finally pays. Trade buyers work on a net price, arrived at by applying the discount structure applicable to the channel, the range and often the order value — discounting is range-specific, so an MCB and an ACB in the same document will not behave the same way. Because those structures are commercially negotiated and revised, we do not publish them; we apply them in a quotation.
On top of net price, GST applies at the rate notified for the HSN code of the item (LT switchgear generally falls under the 8536 family; enclosures, meters and cables sit elsewhere). Always check whether a quote you are comparing is inclusive or exclusive, and whether freight and packing are ex-works or delivered — that single line item explains most of the gap between two “same brand, same rating” offers.
Decoding ABB order codes
ABB items carry both a short commercial designation (for example an MCB described by series, poles, curve and rating) and a long order/EAN reference used for ordering. Read the commercial designation left to right: series → number of poles → tripping curve → rated current → breaking capacity class. For MCCBs, the frame comes first (XT1, XT2 and so on), then the breaking-capacity class, then the trip unit type, then the rating and pole count, then fixed / plug-in / withdrawable execution. Two items that look identical on a BOM can differ only in breaking-capacity class or trip unit — which is exactly where estimation errors come from. Always transcribe the full order code, not the shortened description.
Breaking capacity, cascading and selectivity — where estimates go wrong
ABB’s documentation is unusually strong on coordination, and using it properly saves real money. Three concepts matter:
Icu, Ics and Icw. Icu is the ultimate short-circuit breaking capacity — the device will interrupt this fault but may not be fit for further service. Ics is the service breaking capacity, expressed as a percentage of Icu, after which the breaker remains serviceable. Icw is the short-time withstand current, relevant to ACBs used where downstream selectivity must be maintained. Specifying on Icu alone is common and wrong for anything feeding a critical load.
Cascading (back-up protection). Under IS/IEC 60947-2 and IS/IEC 60898-1 practice, a downstream device with a breaking capacity lower than the prospective fault current at its point of installation can still be used if the upstream device is verified by the manufacturer to back it up. ABB publishes coordination tables for exactly this. Using them lets you fit a lower-rated, lower-cost outgoing MCB or MCCB legitimately instead of over-specifying every outgoing way. The catch: only the tested upstream–downstream pairs count, and they must be the same manufacturer’s verified combinations.
Discrimination. Current discrimination alone breaks down near the fault level; time discrimination and, for electronic trip units, zone-selective interlocking are what keep a Bengaluru plant’s incomer from tripping on a downstream motor fault. If you are building a panel to IEC 61439, state the intended discrimination in the enquiry so the trip units quoted actually support it.
Finally, derate for ambient. Thermal-magnetic devices are calibrated at a reference ambient; inside a closed panel in a Karnataka summer the internal air is materially hotter, so MCB and MCCB ratings must be corrected using the published derating factors. Temperature-rise verification under IEC 61439 is the discipline here, not guesswork.
Why ABB revises prices
Price revisions in LT switchgear are input-cost driven, not arbitrary. Copper for busbars and coils, silver for contact tips, cold-rolled steel for enclosures and engineering plastics all move with commodity markets. Add rupee movement on imported frames and trip units, freight, and the cost of BIS and IS/IEC standard revisions that force design changes and re-certification. Model phase-outs matter too: when a range is superseded, the replacement sits at a different list position, so an item that “went up” may in fact be a different device. That is why the effective date on the cover is the most important thing on the PDF.
Buying ABB in Bengaluru and Karnataka — with pan-India dispatch
Skylights Energy has been in the Bengaluru electrical trade since 2013 and operates from Bommanahalli, Bangalore 560068. We supply ABB LT switchgear as a stockist and supplier — not as an authorised ABB dealer — and we quote strictly against the current published ABB price list so your comparison is apples to apples. VendorStocks, our B2B and B2C platform, carries roughly 3,000 SKUs across circuit protection, control gear and accessories, and we dispatch pan-India.
For panel builders there is a second reason to talk to us: our Stellar Panels arm manufactures LT and HT panels, so BOM queries on breaking capacity, busbar sizing and enclosure selection are answered by people who build panels. If you estimate panels regularly, our Switchonomy platform at panelestimation.com turns a BOM into a priced quotation.
Send your BOM, single-line diagram or simple item list to support@skylightsenergy.in with GSTIN and delivery pin code, and we will revert with a quotation, availability and lead time.
How often this page is updated
We check ABB’s published price list monthly and within a few working days of any announced revision. When a new edition is released the PDF here is replaced, the previous edition is archived, and the effective date beside the download is updated. Need an older edition for reconciling a purchase order? Ask us — we keep superseded copies.
