Where to get the latest Lauritz Knudsen price list

Lauritz Knudsen (formerly L&T Switchgear) publishes its price list as several PDFs split by product family — Electrical Standard Products, Exora, AU, Retail, Industrial Signaling, Agricultural, Irrigation Automation, Submersible Flat Cable and Wires & Cables — each with its own “effective from” date. This page mirrors the latest edition of each, so you are not guessing whether the copy in your WhatsApp group is current. Download the one matching your enquiry and email your BOM to support@skylightsenergy.in for a net quotation.

Why your “L&T switchgear price list” search lands here

Most contractors in Karnataka still type “L&T switchgear price list”, and that is not a mistake — it is the same product line under a new name. The L&T Electrical & Automation business passed to the Schneider Electric group and was relaunched as Lauritz Knudsen Electrical & Automation, reviving the name of the Danish company L&T originally partnered with for technology transfer. The OEM’s own site still signs off as “formerly L&T Switchgear”.

Three things follow for a purchase manager: familiar range names — Exora, AU, Tripper, dsine, MNX — carried over; price lists are now titled under the Lauritz Knudsen name, so searching only for “L&T” can land you on an old file; and old cartons still circulate in the Bengaluru market, so match the catalogue number, not the logo.

Old L&T part number to current Lauritz Knudsen equivalent

This is the biggest source of wrong deliveries in the Bengaluru market right now.

What changed: the brand name on the product, carton, catalogue and price-list title. What largely did not change: the catalogue/order number structure — the range name (Exora, AU, dsine, MNX) still does the identifying work.

So the reliable method is a three-step match, not a lookup table:

  1. Identify the range, not the brand — read the range name on the device face.
  2. Match the electrical duty exactly: rated current, poles, curve, residual sensitivity, kA, release type.
  3. Confirm against the current price-list line item, then place the order number.

Two cautions. Legacy ACB references such as C-Power S1 are superseded by U-Power Omega — do not assume a like-for-like drawout cradle fit. And because these order numbers are long alphanumeric strings, the letter O and the digit 0 get transposed when retyped from a scan. Copy-paste from the PDF, or send us a photo of the old label.

How to read a Lauritz Knudsen price list

List price vs net price. The PDF publishes a list price per catalogue number. Trade buyers rarely transact at list price — a dealer or distributor discount reaches the net price, and it varies by product family, order value, project registration and whether the item is stock or make-to-order. Use the PDF to identify the right item; use a written quotation for the price you pay.

GST. Switchgear attracts GST at the rate for its HSN classification, and whether a printed figure is inclusive or exclusive differs between price lists — read the cover-page terms. Our invoices show HSN code, taxable value and GST separately, which is what your accounts team needs for input credit.

Reading the nomenclature. For MCBs: poles (SP, DP, SPN, TP, TPN, FP), rated current In, curve, and breaking capacity in kA to IS/IEC 60898-1. For MCCBs: frame size, In, Icu at 415 V AC to IS/IEC 60947-2, then release type — thermal-magnetic for plain feeders, electronic where adjustable LSI settings are needed. For RCCBs, sensitivity in mA matters more than current rating. Because these order numbers are long and non-descriptive, the price-list line description is your real check — never abbreviate one in a PO.

Why Lauritz Knudsen revises prices

Price revisions in Indian LV switchgear are driven by input and compliance costs rather than marketing decisions:

  • Copper and silver. Copper for current-carrying parts and coils, silver-alloy for contact tips — both traded commodities.
  • Steel and engineering plastics. Enclosures, DB sheet metal and moulded cases track steel and polymer prices.
  • Forex and freight. Imported sub-assemblies, release electronics and inbound logistics are currency- and freight-sensitive.
  • Standards and certification. IS/IEC and BIS revisions force redesign, re-testing and re-certification.
  • Range transitions. Phased-out series are withdrawn, not repriced.

Hence the “effective from” date rather than a validity period — and why quoting off a two-year-old PDF is a commercial risk.

Selecting breaking capacity and coordinating protection

Where most Lauritz Knudsen orders go wrong is not the price list, it is the kA rating.

Match kA to the prospective fault current at the point of installation, not at the transformer. A 10 kA MCB is fine on a final sub-circuit fed through cable impedance and under-rated at a main DB near a large distribution transformer. Establish prospective short-circuit current board by board first.

Use back-up (cascading) protection deliberately. An upstream MCCB can limit let-through energy so a downstream MCB of lower breaking capacity is permitted — but only for combinations the manufacturer has type-tested and published, never derived by calculation on site.

Design for discrimination, then derate. Current discrimination alone is unreliable near the fault-current limit; electronic releases with adjustable short-time and instantaneous settings give real selectivity between an incoming ACB and outgoing MCCBs. Separately, thermal-magnetic devices are calibrated at a reference ambient — inside a closed panel in a Bengaluru shed in April, internal air runs well above it and thermal elements trip early. Factor ambient and enclosure derating into the rating you order.

Buying Lauritz Knudsen in Bengaluru and across India

Skylights Energy has traded in the Indian electrical market since 2013 from Begur Cross Road, Bommanahalli, Bangalore 560068. VendorStocks, our B2B/B2C platform, carries roughly 3,000 SKUs across switchgear, protection, control and panel components, with dispatch across Karnataka and pan-India.

For contractors, panel builders, MEP consultants and purchase managers we quote against a full BOM or drawing rather than a single line, flag superseded references before they reach your PO, handle LT and HT panel scope through Stellar Panels, price panel BOMs in Switchonomy, and add RS485/Modbus energy monitoring through Switchology where metering is in scope.

Send a BOM, a single-line diagram or a photo of the old label to support@skylightsenergy.in for a net quotation, stock position and dispatch timeline. GSTIN 29ACGFS8716B1ZZ.
